The insecurity in Stockholm County has increased over the past eight years and the proportion of county residents who feel insecure in their own residential area during the day has doubled. But in the county's report, Norrtälje municipality stands out as one of the safest municipalities in the county.

Norrtälje aims to be Sweden's safest municipality and to reach it Trygg was formed in Norrtälje municipality (TiNk), which is a collaboration between, among others, the municipality, the police, associations, and companies.

- Alone is not strong. We have gathered the functions that are scattered in other municipalities under the same roof. The fact that we can work together on preventive work is one of the key factors in our success, ”says Marita Bertilsson, who is Head of Department at Trygg in Norrtälje Municipality.

In the County Administrative Board's survey, 19 percent of Norrtalje residents say that they have experienced fear or felt unsafe during the evening for the past 12 months, while the corresponding figure for Botkyrka is more than three times as high.

To increase security, the municipality of Norrtälje has two security guards and two security guards working together and in collaboration with Trygg in the municipality of Norrtälje and with the Police.

David Isaksson has worked as a field coordinator in Norrtälje for three years and he believes that the close contact between the various players is crucial for the security work.

- Norrtälje municipality is incredibly large, to the surface one third of the entire Stockholm county. So it is required that we have good cooperation with everyone, from parents, police and social services. The reason is that everyone is just a phone call away, he says.

Maria Nyström is also a field coordinator and she believes that presence creates security.

- Police, security guards and us fielders move around a lot and I think it gives a lot of security. We would love to see more adults who are out and about, she says.
