On December 26, 27 and 28, 1999, France and Europe were swept by two storms of exceptional power: Lothar and Martin. It is the concomitance of two exceptional storms, Lothar, on the 26th, in the north of France, and Martin, on the 27th, in the south of the country, which earned them the name of "storms of the century". The total toll of the victims of this natural disaster is 92 dead in France. With, moreover, an estimated cost between 8 and 13 billion euros of damage. Back in pictures on this event which deprived at the height of the crisis up to 3.45 million homes of electricity.
