Omani TV, quoting the Royal Court, stated that Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed is in a "stable condition ... and is following the scheduled treatment program."

The Sultan’s Court added in a statement that Sultan Qaboos extends his thanks and appreciation to his people for the nobility they show in their feelings and sincerity in their calls and circumvent their leadership.

Concerns increased over the health of the Sultan of Oman, 79, after he made a short visit to Belgium for treatment this month, and the Omani authorities announced nothing about his health after his return.

Sultan Qaboos took the reins of the Sultanate on July 23, 1970, to begin his career with the government, and upon assuming power he was one of the youngest Arab leaders, but he was highly educated, and since his assumption of power he has sought to deepen the Sultanate's relations with Arab and foreign countries, ended his isolation, and used Its oil revenue to modernize it.

During his tenure, he pursued a measure of neutrality in regional and international issues, but he maintained friendly relations with Arab and world countries in general, and established strong military and political ties with Washington.

Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed traveled in the summer of 2014 to Germany for a treatment trip, at which time the Royal Court confirmed that the Sultan was conducting medical examinations in the city of Munich, and on March 23, 2015 he returned to Muscat after eight months of treatment.
