31 December 2019About 10,000 New Year's barrels, for a total weight of over 5 quintals of pyrotechnic material , have been seized by the Guardia di Finanza to three wholesalers operating between the Florentine industrial district of Osmannoro, in the municipality of Sesto Fiorentino, and Campi Bisenzio. The three perpetrators were reported, all Chinese for violation of article 678 of the penal code: the barrels, explains Gdf of Florence, were stored in "unsafe" ways because they were close to other highly flammable materials such as lighters, paper and plastic objects and in an area open to the public.

An injured 30-year-old was arrested in Naples for detaining explosive material by the carabinieri of the Compagnia Vomero operational unit. At home, the military found 204 handcrafted bombs and 4 boxes of free-selling fireworks of various categories. Altogether, the military seized 25 kilograms of explosive material. The man is under house arrest pending the validation hearing.

One hundred kilos of fireworks were seized in Palermo by the carabinieri who reported eight people altogether. The checks, in view of the New Year, were taken in corso dei Mille where some street vendors were reported. In a garage in the Zen 2 district, however, 88 kilos of "barrels" were found. The young man who had the warehouse in use was reported for abusive trade in explosive materials and failed to report explosive material. The other seizures in via Ciaculli, in corso Tukory, in via Pecori Giraldi, and in via Michelangelo.

The carabinieri of Senigallia denounced the two owners of an inland shop, where the military, as part of a series of checks on the resale of pyrotechnic products, found some firecrackers, with high explosive charge, not regularly registered as required by the current legislation on the matter. One of the two was reported for failure to register pyrotechnic artifices, pursuant to art. 55 of the Consolidated Law on Public Safety Laws, the other for abusive trade in explosive materials, pursuant to art. 678 of the Criminal Code. The material found was subjected to criminal seizure.

The Syracuse police seized 24 kilos of illegally detained barrels, some of which were real banned explosives, as well as marijuana, cocaine and hashish, arresting two people and reporting a third. The fireworks were inside several boxes, for a total of almost 22 kilos, held without a license and in a garage near residential complexes.

A 34-year-old man was arrested by the police in Taranto on charges of detention for drug dealing and possession of explosive material. The agents of the Mobile team discovered in the home of the arrested more than 500 firecrackers for a total weight of 12 kg, without labeling.

The Messina police seized end-of-year barrels for a total weight of 72 kilos illegally detained by a 27-year-old, who kept most of them at home, in the room used as a living room kitchen. The remaining part was hidden in a prefabricated box located in the condominium area. Reported quantity of explosives equal to more than fourteen kilos. The young man was reported yesterday by the police officers of the steering wheels.
