Five wolves in the Sörmland area - County Administrative Board: "Unusually many"

The wolf inventory inventory, after DNA analysis, showed a total of five wolf pups in the two areas. A sixth lived in the Erlareviret, but was hit earlier this fall.

"What we know today is that six wolf puppies were born in Sörmland in the early summer, but there may be more," says Johan Varenius, head of the rural department at the county administrative board in Sörmland.

The inventory goes on throughout the winter. The County Administrative Board has, with the help of game cameras, seen a rejuvenation of the wolf in both areas, which is unusual.

- We have had two rejuvenations in Sörmland and we have not had that for many years, says Johan Varenius.

What is it?

- The wolves are spreading and settling south. There has also been a rejuvenation in Östergötland.
