Beginning on Wednesday, the Netherlands is preparing to officially terminate its dealings with the name "Netherlands", which it has been known in the Arab media, as it will keep its official name "Lowlands" or "Netherlands", starting from next year 2020, which begins tomorrow.

The Sydney Morning Herald said that as of January, the authorities would drop the name "Netherlands" from all marketing materials and publications, and that the companies, embassies, ministries, and universities would only be able to use the official name "lowlands".

The Netherlands has allocated $ 300,000 in a campaign to amend the country’s name globally, aiming to target tourists in order to know the country's emblem, which is an orange tulip, with the first two letters of the country's official name, "N L", that is, the lowlands.

The name of the Netherlands, used for 25 years, dates back to the name of two provinces in the country, namely the province of North Holland and the province of South Holland, which includes the most important cities in the country such as Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam, where the country includes 12 sectors.
