Simone Biles more sparkling than ever! At 22, the American champion became the most medal-winning gymnast in history worldwide (men and women combined), with 25 awards, at the World Championships in Stuttgart in October. With its colossal prize list, 19 world gold medals, three in silver and three in bronze. Before her, never one or a gymnast had amassed more than twelve world coronations. And never had she collected so much gold in a single world meeting than on the German apparatus: five titles, out of six possible, in the all-around competition, in the jump, on the beam, on the ground, and by team . To top it all off, the bouncing Texan has named her name two new, ultra-complex acrobatics, a double somersault with triple spin on the ground, a double-double on the beam, becoming the first to perform them in international competition. An ideal orbit in preparation for the Tokyo Games, where the quadruple reigning Olympic champion may be retiring.
