This is stated in a statement on the website of the foreign ministry.

It is noted that in the framework of the exchange "in total 200 people were able to return home."

According to the Foreign Ministry, the exchange was the result of the agreements that were reached at the Norman summit in Paris.

“Moscow welcomes this important humanitarian step, which has allowed dozens of people to reunite with their families and celebrate the coming New Year with their families,” the ministry said.

The Russian side expects that, in 2020, work will continue on further exchanges of held persons on the principle of “all for all”, fixed in the Minsk “Set of Measures”, as well as “on the implementation of other provisions, primarily in the political sphere”.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky thanked the leaders of the "Norman Four" after an exchange of prisoners in the Donbass.
