“The telephone conversation between the presidents of Belarus and Russia took place today (December 30. - RT ) ... we discussed specific issues regarding oil and gas supplies to the Republic of Belarus,” the commentary says.

The presidents also exchanged congratulations on the upcoming holidays.

Earlier, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Belarus Dmitry Krutoy expressed hope that Lukashenko and Putin would discuss integration roadmaps for oil, gas and taxes before the end of the year.

The Kremlin did not rule out the possibility of a telephone conversation between the two leaders before the New Year to resolve the issue of gas supplies.

The expert Alexander Shatko, in an interview with PolitExpert, called the issue of integration with Russia a priority in the foreign policy of Belarus.
