Medvedev approved the Northern Sea Route infrastructure development plan until 2035

As part of the implementation of this plan, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economic Development and Rosatom, when preparing the federal budget for the next financial year and planning period, provide for budget allocations.

Also, according to the decree, the State Commission for the Development of the Arctic needs to submit for approval to the government plans for the implementation of large investment projects in the Arctic zone of Russia, aimed at developing freight traffic along the Northern Sea Route.

Earlier it was reported that the Baltic Shipyard will build five new nuclear icebreakers by 2026, which will operate on the Northern Sea Route.

The head of the department of state regulation of the RANEPA, Vladimir Klimanov, in an interview with the FBA “Economics Today” commented on plans to build new icebreakers for the Northern Sea Route.
