The Sudanese government on Monday suspended the broadcasting platform of Al-Andalus Media Production and Distribution Co. Ltd., whose board of directors is chaired by the preacher Abd al-Hayy Yusef, who opposes the forces of the ruling Freedom and Change Coalition.

It broadcasts through this company a group of "good" channels and 10 channels in the name of "Africa" ​​broadcast in the Hausa, Swahili, English and Al-Takray languages, aiming to provide an advocacy message in Africa.

And "Thebes" is a Sudanese Islamic channel whose board is headed by the well-known preacher Abd al-Hayy Yusef al-Mahsoub, who is affiliated with the Salafi movement.

A statement issued by the Sudanese Ministry of Culture and Information stated that Minister Faisal Mohamed Saleh issued a decree stopping the broadcasting platform of Al-Andalus Media Production and Distribution Company, which owns the “Tiba” satellite channels, through which it permits broadcasting more than ten unlicensed channels from the Sudanese authorities.

He explained that the decision was based on the exclusive right of radio and television broadcasting to the Sudanese General Authority for Radio and TV Broadcasting, and based on the constitutional document for 2019 that the radio and television broadcasting process is a federal matter.

There was no immediate comment from the channel on the statement of the Ministry of Culture and Information.

The broadcast of "Thebes" channel was launched from Khartoum in July 2008. The channel offers programs aimed at supporting Islamic identity, according to those responsible for it.

Since last August 21, a transitional period of 39 months has begun in Sudan that is supposed to end with elections, and the authority and the forces of the Alliance for the Declaration of Freedom and Change will share power.
