In total, the government is investing 30 million in work-integrated teacher education. The investment is distributed among eleven HEIs. Dalarna University is the higher education institution that receives the most money.

The grant to Dalarna University also includes a responsibility to coordinate the investment throughout the country.

- Since we are a little ahead of the others, we get the opportunity to be convener, says Mats Tegmark, development manager of teacher education at Dalarna University.

Two of the five million will be used by Dalarna University to create a network for exchange of experience on work-integrated education. The assignment also involves developing working methods that make it possible to validate the work that the students do at the school they work in, so that it can be credited to the education.

The purpose of the government's initiative is, among other things, to attract more to the teacher education programs and to provide the conditions for this form of study throughout the country.
