Moscow witnessed talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Iranian Mohammad Javad Zarif, as Lavrov criticized "American provocations" about Iran and expressed concern about the tension in the Gulf region, while Zarif condemned the American bombing in Syria and Iraq on Sunday.

Lavrov said today, Monday, that "Washington's provocative methods towards Iran are clear," saying that Washington is in breach of international rules on the nuclear agreement with Iran and calls on everyone not to implement their obligations regarding it.

Lavrov affirmed during a joint press conference with his counterpart, Zarif, that his country had made efforts to maintain the nuclear agreement that Washington is trying to destroy.

On the Libyan issue, Lavrov said, "Regarding the idea of declaring a no-fly zone over Libya, it reminds us of a bad thing ... NATO began bombing Libya after the UN Security Council decided to declare a no-fly zone over Libya, and the only authority approved by the Security Council is He ordered the countries concerned to secure the no-fly zone. "

Lavrov considered that NATO members lost their credibility again as partners able to negotiate, and benefited from this decision in order to start bombing Libyan lands, noting that what is happening now is regaining "NATO's invasion" of Libya during the late era of leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Lavrov also expressed Moscow's concern about the increasing tension in the Gulf region, adding that his country presented its concept of collective security in this region, and Tehran presented the Hormuz Peace Initiative, both of which are in the interest of uniting efforts to achieve stability in the region, as he put it.

American bombing
For his part, Zarif described the American bombing of Syria and Iraq as unacceptable, and said that Washington has plunged the people of Iraq and Syria into blood, while Moscow and Tehran are making efforts to bring peace.

And Zarif discussed the situation in Syria's Idlib, indicating that his country seeks to impose security in light of the conditions of this "fragile" region in cooperation with Russia and Turkey.

"The trilateral cooperation between Russia, Syria and Iran helped to form the constitutional committee, and this is very important," Zarif added.

On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi described the bombing that was launched by the United States yesterday on the sites of the Hezbollah Brigades affiliated with the Iraqi Popular Mobilization, as "a clear example of terrorism", describing the presence of foreign forces in the region as "a cause of insecurity, tension and crises."

The US Department of Defense announced yesterday targeting bases of the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades in western Iraq and eastern Syria in response to missile attacks that led to the death of an American contractor two days ago, as the popular crowd announced that the American bombing killed 25 people and wounded more than 50 others.
