Libyan Al-Wefaq government forces confirmed that they had killed ten gunmen of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar in clashes in the vicinity of Tripoli International Airport south of the capital.

The spokesman for the Al-Wefaq government forces, Colonel Muhammad Qanunu, said that the clashes erupted when Haftar forces tried to infiltrate the locations of the Al-Wefaq forces near the airport road south of Tripoli, confirming the destruction of 12 attackers' vehicles.

He added that Al-Wefaq forces attacked the force that tried to infiltrate the equestrian bridge with infantrymen reinforced by four Emirati armored vehicles, indicating that accurate artillery strikes hit the attackers.

A spokesman for the Al-Wefaq forces said that their forces had succeeded in luring armed fighters loyal to Haftar at the axis of Al-Khalatat Road, south of the capital, to attack them after that.

On social media, activists reported that Haftar's forces left behind burned bodies on the airport axis. This is the second time in days that Al-Wefaq forces have foiled an attempt to infiltrate Haftar militants in this axis.
