The Committee of Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs of the Federal National Council completed, during its meeting from the first regular session of the seventeenth legislative session, today, December 29, 2019, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Dubai, headed by Dr. Ali Rashid Al-Nuaimi, discussing all articles of a federal draft law amending some provisions of the law regarding the College The police, in preparation for adopting the report and submitting it to the council.

The head of the committee, Dr. Al-Nuaimi, said: “The committee completed during its meeting the discussion of the draft law, after having discussed all the items in the presence of government representatives, and the most prominent axes of amending the provisions of the law were reviewed through best legal practices.”

He added: "The committee discussed several articles of the law with representatives of the Ministry of Interior, where views were exchanged and responses to inquiries from members of the committee, and accordingly many provisions of the law were adopted," noting that the committee will discuss its report on the draft law in preparation for submitting it to the council for discussion. And pass it during its next sessions.

Al-Naimi explained that a federal draft law amending some provisions of the law regarding the police college aims to address the administrative aspects of the college and board of directors structure so that they are compatible with modern requirements to develop academic and training aspects, and amend the duration of study at the company’s college at the undergraduate stage to semesters according to the criteria for licensing academic accreditation, And to address the situation of police college students currently studying on the modern academic system, which will be graduated in early 2020.

The bill also aims, according to the explanatory note, to address the situation of university graduates who are enrolled in the Police College with a view to graduating them as officers, and to address the financial conditions of the Police College based on what has been agreed with the Ministry of Finance.
