It was on August 9 that the County Administrative Board in Jämtland chose to cancel the small game hunt in parts of the Sami village of Ruvhten Sijte's annual trunks. The reason was that the Sami village needed access to the land because they had no bait for their reindeer elsewhere.

The decision was appealed

The decision was appealed by the Swedish Jägareförbundet Mitt Norrland to the Administrative Court in Härnösand. Now they have announced their decision - which is that they reject the appeal.

In its decision, the Administrative Court writes:

“In the appealed decision, the County Administrative Board has tried an application in accordance with Section 3 of the Reindeer Husbandry Regulation. The decision applies to such lease as referred to in section 32 of the Reindeer Husbandry Act and thus may not be appealed to the general administrative court. The administrative court is thus prevented from hearing the appeal '.
