Filed the lists for the regional elections of January 26 in Emilia Romagna and Calabria.

Between curiosities and twists, between well-known and novice faces, here is the picture of the candidacies in Emilia Romagna.

Two main candidates, supported by six lists each, and five outsiders in search of the electoral coup for Emilia-Romagna. The final applications will, however, be made official only next week, once the correctness of all documents has been verified.

Stefano Bonaccini , the outgoing governor, comes back supported by a large center-left coalition. There are six lists that make it up: Pd, + Europe (which also includes Pri and Psi), Volt Emilia-Romagna, the left-wing 'Emilia-Romagna Brave' rally led by former MEP Elly Schlein, Green Europe and the civic list ' Bonaccini President '. Similar pattern for Lucia Borgonzoni , supported by the center-right. Six lists are also lined up with her: Lega, Forza Italia, Brothers of Italy, let's change! -Popolo della Famiglia, the Youth for the Environment and the civic 'Borgonzoni Presidente'. The Five Star Movement runs alone, which nominates Simone Benini as governor. The Other Emilia-Romagna (candidate Stefano Lugli ), Potere al Popolo (with Marta Collot ) and the Communist Party (with Laura Bergamini ) also go independently. The 3V-Vaccini Movement We Want Truth closes the picture with candidate Domenico Battaglia .

Calabria: 4-way race for the Region, 15 lists in the field
Four candidates for the office of President of the Region and 15 lists of candidates for the Regional Council. At the end of the deadline for the presentation of lists and candidates, at noon on Saturday, these are the numbers of the regional elections in Calabria scheduled for January 26th.

The four candidates for the office of President of the Region are the regional parliamentarian and coordinator of Forza Italia, Jole Santelli, for the center-right; the entrepreneur Pippo Callipo for the center-left, the professor of the University of Calabria, Francesco Aiello , for the M5s, and the geologist Carlo Tansi , former head of the regional civil protection.

In support of Santelli there are six lists: Forza Italia, Lega, Fratelli d'Italia, UDC, Jole Santelli president and Casa delle Libertà.

Callipo will have the support of four lists: "I'm staying in Calabria", Pd, Progressive Democrats and "10 ideas for Calabria" (the latter, however, is at risk of exclusion).

Two lists will support Aiello: the 5 star Movement and "Calabria Civica-Liberi di Cambiare". Finally, for Tansi, three lists will take the field: "Tesoro Calabria", "Calabria Libera and" Calabria Pulita ", the latter two, however, running only in the northern constituency.

Therefore, an election campaign officially begins that will go down in the history of Calabrian politics, probably more for the renunciations of the candidates for the presidency (4) than for the candidates (4). The first to give up, the day after the operation against the 'Ndrangheta with over 300 arrests and the involvement also of representatives of the world of politics, was the national vice president of Codacons, Francesco Di Lieto. "Calabria would need a commissioner - he commented - with the usual politics things will never change". He was followed by the former president of Confindustria Reggio Calabria, Giuseppe Nucera, who decided to support the candidate of the center-right Jole Santelli. After a long arm wrestling with his party, the Democratic Party, the outgoing governor Mario Oliverio decided to abandon the race. Oliverio's step back, and support for Callipo's candidacy, came with a letter to the national democratic secretary, Nicola Zingaretti. "I have always worked to unite, never to divide. History will do justice to my work for Calabria". The fourth and final waiver, that of Mario Occhiuto, arrived last Friday, precisely in the days of the presentation of the lists. The mayor of Cosenza, who in recent weeks had submitted his candidacy for the presidency of the Region, at an altitude of Forza Italia, in several Calabrian centers, and who had decided to go on even after the no of the League, accepted the appeal of the day before the blue leader, Silvio Berlusconi. In a letter addressed to Mario Occhiuto and his brother Roberto, deputy group leader FI in the Chamber of Deputies, the ex premier had hoped for the withdrawal of the candidacy and a direct commitment to "build change in Calabria together".

Now, however, the applications have been submitted and we start to win the consensus. However, there is no lack of controversy over some exclusions (in the center-left Callipo asked, and obtained, several steps backwards) for the failure to nominate some politicians who had already started the electoral machine for weeks and for some changes of jacket . But from the candidates we move on to the programs and, above all, to the analysis of the problems.
