“To approve the draft settlement agreement on the lawsuit of PJSC Gazprom against the state of Ukraine, which is being considered by the ad hoc arbitration court in accordance with the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules,” the order says on the website of the country's cabinet.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian and Ukrainian delegations were continuing gas negotiations in Vienna, which began on Thursday, December 26.

On December 27, Gazprom announced that it had paid Naftogaz $ 2.9 billion by decision of the Stockholm arbitration as part of the settlement of the gas transit dispute.

Naftogaz confirmed the receipt of funds, announcing the continuation of negotiations between the parties on the terms of further cooperation after the completion of the current gas supply contract on January 1, 2020.

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called the receipt of $ 2.9 billion in compensation by Naftogaz from Gazprom a big victory for Ukraine.
