Talks with Prime Minister of Japan Mayor Matsui Osaka Mayor Hashishita For close cooperation to promote constitutional debate 4:28 on December 28

Prime Minister Abe met with Mayor Matsui and Torumoto Hashishita of Osaka City, who represent the Japan Restoration Association, and agreed to work closely together to promote debate on constitutional revision.

The meeting was held for about two and a half hours on the night of the 27th at a hotel in Minato-ku, Tokyo, accompanied by Secretary-General Kan.

Prime Minister Abe and Mayor Matsui agreed that they would work closely together to facilitate debate on constitutional reform.

We also confirmed that we will continue to cooperate to make the Osaka / Kansai Expo held in 2025 a success.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the so-called “Osaka Metropolitan Initiative,” which will abolish the current Osaka City and reorganize it into four special wards.
