A match that will remain in the history of French sport! For the first time, the French basketball players beat a team from the United States entirely made up of NBA players, in the quarterfinals of the World Cup (89-79). Certainly, the legendary coach Gregg Popovich could not convince any big star to come to China, but the feat is still daunting. The Americans had not lost in international competition for thirteen years. While they saw themselves go to the end, the Blues of Rudy Gobert, Nando de Colo and Evan Fournier will have to settle for a (beautiful) bronze medal, the second in a row after that of 2014, because of a day-free against Argentina in the semi-finals.
