European Commission President Urzula von der Line has expressed concern over the participation of the Chinese telecom giant Huawei in expanding the fifth generation networks for cellular communications.

"When there is a risk of spying on citizens or companies data because of this law, we cannot accept that," the German politician said in statements to the German magazine "Der Spiegel", due to be issued on Saturday, referring to a Chinese law that requires companies and citizens to provide information to the Chinese intelligence services.

Von der Line confirmed that the infrastructure of the fifth and sixth generation networks of cellular communications is "a pivotal technology sensitive to a secure data flow in Europe", explaining that the European Commission intends to put forward proposals for European standards to establish these networks, and said: "One of these criteria must ensure that companies ", Which will provide us with these highly sensitive technologies, independent and not forced by their governments to transfer data."

It should be noted that there are internal and external demands that the German government exclude the Chinese company «Huawei» from developing the fifth generation cellular network in Germany, to prevent any possible espionage activities from Beijing.
