Police were alerted to a suspected violent crime outside Kungsbacka late on Christmas Day. When they arrived at the site, a person was found dead near a villa.
"We then initiated a preliminary investigation into murder and in connection with this detention we arrested a suspected offender," said Peter Nordengard, police officer on duty.
Police have blocked off the entire garden and technicians arrived at the scene later that night.
"Right now technicians are working on the site and we are conducting initial investigative measures and are looking for relatives of the deceased," said Peter Nordengard, police officer at the police at 3 o'clock at night.
The suspected offender should be questioned during the morning hours. Prosecutors have also been contacted before a possible arrest.
The police do not want to provide any information on the age or gender of those involved. Nor do they want to comment on the relationship the suspected offender has with the deceased.
