December 26, 2019 On the eve of the New Year's Eve party in Russia, the sale of live mice has doubled: a phenomenon due to the fact that the year that will come will be precisely the Year of the mouse according to the Chinese calendar.

The price varies from 7 to 15 euros, but for a pedigree mouse of breed it takes at least 30 euros.

Sellers often offer pairings to make animals feel good and in company.

The problem, however, lies in the fact that the mice reproduce with incredible rapidity: recently there was the case in the province of Moscow of a woman who after buying a couple soon found herself with the house invaded by a thousand animals that not only they ate all the food supplies but then they also devoured furniture and cutlery.

The woman was hospitalized in a psychiatric facility while animal rights activists had to distribute mice across Russia.

The animalists themselves invite not to give mice as many people don't know what to do with them and throw them away.

Mice of particular species have been spotted recently in many Russian landfills, which are not found in nature. These species do not fear humans and come closer, unlike the wild ones. These are precisely those domestic mice that humans have disposed of.
