The Houthis accused Saudi Arabia of bombing a popular market in the governorate of Saada (northern Yemen), which resulted in many civilian deaths.

On Wednesday, the Houthi military spokesman, Brigadier Yahya Sari, vowed Saudi Arabia to a painful and harsh response to the artillery and missile attack on the Al-Raqou market in the Sa`da district of Saada Governorate.

Saree said that Saudi Arabia continues its crimes and penetrated into Yemeni blood, adding that what he called Saudi crimes will not go unnoticed.

This threat comes after the Houthi Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the bombing that took place on Tuesday has risen to 17, five Yemenis and 12 Ethiopian immigrants, and a number of others were injured, according to Houthi media.

Houthi-affiliated media, including Al-Masirah TV, have published shocking pictures of victims whose bodies were burned as a result of the shelling in the Munbah District.

This new incident comes after a period of frequent reports of contacts between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis to end the war, but Houthi leader Mohammed Ali Al Houthi said mid this month that the coalition had not taken any positive step, and that it was stepping up at various levels in Yemen.

The Houthis have previously accused the coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates of targeting civilian sites, and the coalition has acknowledged responsibility for some similar incidents and opened investigations into them.

In the context, the Yemeni National Army announced yesterday, Wednesday, the killing of 15 Houthi with coalition raids in the Kattaf district of Saada.

The Yemeni Army website (September Net) said that the raids targeted Houthi gatherings, adding that it also resulted in the destruction of military vehicles.
