The Chairman of Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, Eng. Stressing that the authority is continuing to strengthen infrastructure and participate in the prosperity process of Sharjah Sultan, and implement a number of major projects in line with the national agenda for the UAE vision 2021 aimed at reaching a sustainable environment and integrated infrastructure through which we look to become the first country globally in the quality of infrastructure and roads , And consolidating the principles of the Quality of Life Strategy 2031 to enhance happiness in the country by establishing cities and societies that depend on sustainable infrastructure and transportation systems.
For her part, Director of Roads Projects Department at the engineering authority, Fatima Al-Ketbi, said that the authority has completed a number of vital projects this year, on top of which is the replacement of the eighth single bridge consisting of a lane for each direction and intersecting with Al Dhaid road, and the establishment of a new double bridge consisting of two lanes for each direction With a width of 7.3 meters in each direction, this bridge is connected at two ends with two floors with 4 roads as free exits with a total length of 2.6 meters.
She added, that the bridge will work to transfer traffic between the industrial Sajaa areas and the area of Jawza’a, which is ideally adjacent to Al Dhaid Road, especially the movement of trucks coming from Emirates Street heading to Al Sajaa, which is transported directly through a ring road established to link the new bridge to Al Dhaid Road, and the project has included The accompanying services works, noting that the bridge also allows future expansion works for Al Dhaid Road, as it will increase the capacity of the road and thus contribute to facilitating traffic and reducing congestion.
