“The heeling operation was carried out at the Arctic 22nd20 General-Purpose Atomic Icebreaker,” the press service of the Baltic Shipyard said.

It is noted that specialists began the operation at 7:00 on December 24 and completed it after midnight.

The company explained that in order to create a roll on the icebreaker, solid ballast in the form of cast-iron ingots was used. In order to improve the accuracy of the tests, 12 cargo movements were performed, with a maximum roll angle of three degrees.

As specified, the data obtained will be included in the operational documentation of the nuclear icebreaker.

Earlier, the Arctic icebreaker completed the first stage of sea trials in the Gulf of Finland and returned to the outfitting wall of the Baltic Shipyard.
