25 December 2019 6.39 Thirty-five civilians, including 31 women, have been killed in a jihadist attack on Arbinda, northern Burkina Faso, which has declared 48 hours of national mourning. Burkina Faso president Roch Kaboré announced it on Twitter, stigmatizing the "barbaric attack" that lasted several hours. Four soldiers and three gendarmes also died, and "80 terrorists were neutralized" (killed), according to the president. Six civilians and 20 military personnel were also injured.
