Eight months after the fire, the Notre-Dame foundation still receives 150 to 200 donations per week. A generosity that comes from all over the world, especially as Christmas approaches. Even if the donations are still far from the billion euros announced just after the fire.

On this Christmas day, Notre-Dame can count on more than 320 million euros for its reconstruction. Despite these firm commitments, we are still far from the billion announced a few weeks after the fire.

Christophe Rousselot, general delegate of the Notre-Dame Foundation, is even surprised that such a figure has been put forward. The billion, nobody has ever found it. It was a kind of spiral effect where it was said, in public opinion, that there could be a billion, but ... The count made by the Ministry of Culture amounts to 322 million euros, which is obviously a considerable sum and extraordinary. But it is not a billion. "

But some large companies have made pledges sometimes amounting to several hundreds of millions of euros which will be released as the work progresses ... perhaps reaching one billion one day!

In the meantime, Christophe Rousselot also relies heavily on the generosity of individuals from around the world. Japan and Indonesia have given much more than European countries like Belgium, Luxembourg or even Germany. It is very striking to see that at the other end of the world, Notre-Dame de Paris represents, for countries which are not Christian, something considerable. "

In total, individuals of 110 different nationalities made a donation to the Notre-Dame foundation.

Yesterday we received a small letter with a 1 euro coin taped. We understood that it was an effort for this person.
