A total of 26 people have had to be treated for presenting symptoms of smoke poisoning as a result of a fire recorded on Wednesday afternoon in a home in Salamanca .

Specifically and according to sources from the Emergency Service of Castilla y León , 18 of those 26 people have had to be transferred to the Salamanca Assistance Complex, seven minors to the University Clinical building and 11 adults to the University Clinic and the Virgen de la Vega .

The events originated at around 17:18, when several calls warned 112 of a fire that had been declared in one of the homes at number 28 on Bolivar Street without the people who contacted the emergency center having proof of whether there were people injured or affected by smoke.

The 112 gave notice of this fire to firefighters , the Local Police of Salamanca and the National Police Corps . In addition, the emergency coordinating center (CCU) of Sanitary Emergencies- Sacyl was informed, from which a mobile UVI and two basic life support ambulances were sent as a preventive.

Already at the scene, the medical staff finally treated 26 people with symptoms of smoke poisoning.
