“Recently, the last wing of the insulator, in the cells of which there was no hot water, was closed for major repairs in Lefortovo, and now all of its prisoners are kept in repaired rooms, where now there are normal toilets, instead of steel funnels that stood earlier, adjustable plastic windows, bulk floors, televisions and refrigerators, ”he said.

According to him, earlier in the PMC of Moscow received numerous complaints about the lack of hot water in the cells and “extremely uncomfortable bathrooms”, and “it all looked like the“ Middle Ages ”.

Klin recalled that the overhaul at Lefortovo began in November 2017 after repeated appeals to the leadership of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia by the PMC of Moscow and the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova.

A member of the PMC added that some domestic problems in this isolator still persist.

“The prisoners complain about the lack of a gym, the poor reception of a television signal in the ground floor cameras, the delay in letters and telegrams from relatives, but the administration promises to connect a collective antenna after the repair is completed in 2020, but, in general, it can be said that in the already repaired cameras according to the conditions of detention, Lefortovo is becoming one of the best investigative isolators, ”said Klin.

Lefortovo often places high-ranking civil servants and well-known entrepreneurs accused of crimes. In particular, it currently contains Rauf Arashukov and his father, former adviser to the director general of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz LLC Raul Arashukov, former head of the Main Investigation Department of Moscow of the IC of Russia Alexander Drymanov.
