Rospotrebnadzor will check the point of sale of nicotine-containing products

“In pursuance of the order of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, in order to prevent and stop the possible sale of non-smoking nicotine-containing products classified as food products at retail outlets,” the Rospotrebnadzor said.

It is noted that the order of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being on the organization of various forms of checks to immediately stop the sale of such products was sent to all territorial bodies of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare.

Earlier, Medvedev instructed the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rospotrebnadzor with the participation of the Prosecutor General and the Investigative Committee to organize unscheduled on-site inspections to prevent the possible sale of non-smoking nicotine-containing products.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science Boris Chernyshov told RT about the initiative to introduce criminal penalties for sellers of certain types of non-smoking tobacco.
