Al-Jazeera correspondent in Idlib stated that ten civilians were killed, including five children, in air strikes targeting a camp for the displaced in the town of Jobas in the eastern Idlib countryside, northeastern Syria, while a new wave of displacement from Idlib countryside towards the Turkish border was recorded, and Turkey asked Russia to install a cease-fire in Idlib, warning of the consequences of the current escalation.

Al-Jazeera correspondent in Idlib, Milad Fadl, quoted the Syrian opposition as saying that a Russian warplane launched from Hmeimim base in Lattakia governorate, western Syria, and bombed the displaced persons camp in the town of Jobas, south of the city of Saraqib in the eastern countryside of Idlib.

The Syrian Civil Defense said that 84 civilians were killed and more than 170 were wounded as a result of the military campaign of the regime forces and Russia on Idlib countryside since the middle of this month.

The civil defense added that the Syrian and Russian warplanes launched about 400 raids on the towns of Idlib countryside, which resulted in dozens of dead and injured, and extensive destruction in towns and villages.

Displaced roads
Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the military raids did not stop today and targeted most of the areas east of Idlib and the city of Maarat al-Numan, as well as targeting the routes used by the fleeing fleeing from the bombing areas, the most prominent of which is the international road linking Aleppo Damascus, so that the displaced people resort to an alternative road that targeted the bombing of the regime forces and Russia.

Today, a new wave of displacement was recorded for civilians from the countryside of Saraqib and some villages in the Jabal Al-Zawiya area, who are heading towards the Syrian-Turkish border, where along the road, hundreds of buses carrying the displaced are observed, while calls are being made to local and international humanitarian agencies to provide aid to the displaced, both with regard to Shelter, food and heating.

The Syrian "Coordination Coordinators" organization said that more than 214,000 civilians have been displaced from Idlib countryside towards the borders with Turkey since the start of the military attack by the regime and its ally Moscow.

The course of the clashes
On the other hand, clashes continue between the opposition and regime forces in eastern Idlib, particularly in the vicinity of the strategic town of Gergnaz, where the opposition launched an offensive to restore areas lost in the past days, in return, the regime and Russia resort to the Air Force to counter the opposition attacks.

Yesterday, the regime forces took control of the town of Gergnaz, to become close to the city of Maarat al-Numan, one of the largest cities in the eastern Idlib countryside, and the system became eight kilometers from the city.

The revolutionary factions begin a military counter-attack on the positions of the Assad forces and the militias loyal to them in the eastern countryside of Ma`rat al-Numan and regain control of several points and destroy several tanks and enemy vehicles.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the regime forces had taken control of 46 villages in the southeastern countryside of Idlib, and the observatory added that the Syrian opposition had regained control of the village of Tal Manas and another neighboring village.

Control point
The observatory said that the regime forces surrounded a Turkish observation post yesterday in the town of Sorman in the southeast of Idlib governorate, and thus this will be the second point of Turkish control points that the regime forces have surrounded after that located in the town of Mork, near Idlib in the northern Hama countryside.

The Turkish army is deployed at observation points inside Syria under a ceasefire agreement in northern Syria concluded in 2018.

In a related context, the Turkish presidency said today that the Ankara authorities "delivered a clear message to the Russian side of the need to implement the cease-fire in Idlib," warning of a large refugee wave and a new humanitarian crisis in the province, which is the last bastion of the Syrian opposition.

Meetings in Moscow
The Turkish officials' statement came at a time when a Turkish delegation headed by the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister held high-level meetings in Moscow with Russian officials on the situation in Idlib.

A Turkish presidential spokesman said Moscow had informed Ankara that it would try to stop the attacks in Idlib.

It is noteworthy that in May 2017 Turkey, Russia and Iran reached an agreement to reduce the escalation of Idlib within the framework of Astana meetings related to the Syrian crisis, but the regime forces and their supporters continue to launch attacks in the region, despite the understanding concluded between Turkey and Russia on September 17, 2018 on Install the de-escalation agreement.
