- We notice that before Christmas. When the children are home, more meals are served. Then we can support them there, says Sandra Gustavsson, deacon at the Swedish church in Växjö.

That the vulnerability becomes greater for many is something that all the requested aid organizations in Växjö agree with. Poor families find it more difficult to afford food when the school is closed, violent women testify to threats and violence during the Christmas celebration. Loneliness can feel harder.

Need to collaborate

The Red Cross, Diakonic Center, the women's show Blenda and the youth band Animo in Växjö tell everyone that they must plan and collaborate with other aid organizations to deal with the growing vulnerability that Christmas entails for many.

- We have different knowledge and we need each other to support and do the best for our fellow human beings, says Sandra Gustavsson.

In the clip above you will find out more about how they work during the Christmas holidays.
