The family of the detained Saudi activist, Jane Al-Hathloul, revealed that she is seeking to file an international lawsuit against the former adviser to the Saudi Royal Court, Saud Al-Qahtani, after he was acquitted of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Lujain's brother tweeted, asking on his Twitter account about the possibility of filing a lawsuit against Saud Al-Qahtani in an American or European court because of the torture crime he committed against his sister Lujain, and he asked those who have background in this regard to communicate with him.

For her part, Alia Al-Hathloul, Jane's sister, asked in another tweet about how to prosecute Al-Qahtani and the American company that spied on her sister, as she put it.

The Saudi prosecution acquitted three prominent officials of the Khashoggi killing, including Saud al-Qahtani, former adviser to the Saudi crown prince, and the Saudi consul in Istanbul, Muhammad al-Otaibi, and Major General Ahmed Asiri, the former deputy director of intelligence, explaining that these three were not charged with any crime and were released.

The acquittal sparked condemnation reactions, and many human rights organizations saw that the trial did not respect the principles of justice.
