Kuwait News Agency reported that Kuwait and Saudi Arabia signed an agreement and a memorandum of understanding on the division of the neutral zone between them, which contain oil fields that are being operated jointly.

No further details were available on the agreement ending the conflict that lasted for more than five years and led to the resumption of oil production from the fields of the region known as the divided region.

The production of the divided area is distributed equally between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. This region’s history dates back to border demarcation agreements in the 1920’s.
