This was reported by lawyer Timofei Musatov.

“Today, January 24, the chairman of the State Council and the Supreme Court of Cassation, by a single decision, changed the decision made yesterday in the case of Alexander Vinnik,” the lawyer said.

He explained that "in yesterday’s decision, the judge decided to consider the application to cancel the extradition decision signed by the Minister of Justice and temporarily suspend the extradition of Alexander on this decision."

Musatov said that "in accordance with the decision of the chairman, the case is seized from the 4th competent department, which issued a decision yesterday, and is referred to the plenary session in an expanded composition of judges in connection with the critical importance of the case."

As specified, the date of consideration was changed from March 24, 2020 to 9:30 on January 10, 2020.

Earlier, the Supreme Administrative Court of Greece suspended the execution of the decision of the Ministry of Justice of the country on the extradition of Vinnik to the United States, France and Russia.

The Russian was detained in Athens in July 2017 at the request of the United States. He is accused of laundering up to $ 4 billion using a cryptocurrency exchange.
