“The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry expresses strong protest in connection with the uncoordinated visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the opening of traffic on the railway part of the so-called Crimean Bridge,” the ministry’s press service said in a statement.

They also said that they passed a note of protest to the Russian side.

Earlier, the Ukrainian “presidential mission in Crimea” condemned the launch of trains on the Crimean bridge.

On December 23, with the participation of Putin, the opening ceremony of the railway part of the Crimean bridge took place.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014, in which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
