Saudi Attorney-General Saud bin Abdullah al-Mujib said that investigations into the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi had been completed, and that Ahmed Asiri, former deputy chief of intelligence and Saud al-Qahtani, former adviser to the Saudi crown prince, had not been found involved in this crime.

The Saudi public prosecutor added that the Saudi consul in Istanbul, Muhammad al-Otaibi, had also been released because the charge had not been proven.

The Public Prosecutor confirmed in a press conference that the court sentenced 5 to death and 3 others to be imprisoned 24 years in the case of Khashoggi’s death, noting that these rulings are still preliminary and not final.
