More than 100 foreign citizens with coordination numbers are registered at the apartment south of Stockholm. According to data for SVT News, the woman who lives there for several years has offered her address to people for payment. Those who are registered at the address through her get access to mail from authorities and the like.

The woman is not the only one offering an address. We have identified several apartments with around 100 people registered.

- We know the problem. We see these types of addresses being used systematically in some form, says Tobias Wijk, who is a business developer at the Swedish Tax Agency.

Must pay tax

It is not illegal to offer people their postal address at an apartment even though they do not live there. But if someone pays for it, the person should pay taxes, according to Tobias Wijk.

- If it is a business activity they should be taxed for it, if you have done it systematically it can be various forms of financial crime.

Around 80 convicted of crimes

For anyone who comes to Sweden, an address is a necessity for receiving mail from authorities. We can also see that people who commit crimes use the identified apartments.

In our review, we found around 80 convicted persons who have entered the address south of Stockholm in their contact with authorities, including a convicted homicide.

- It is when the addresses are used for fraudulent or criminal purposes that it is a problem, says Tobias Wijk.
