The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City affirmed the ban on displaying or selling dogs and pet cats that are less than three months old, and also stressed on prohibiting the sale or display of sick pets and sick pet birds, and prohibiting the display or sale of dogs and cats without a certificate of vaccination against diseases from a veterinary clinic duly licensed in Abu Dhabi City , And also prohibiting the sale of pets and ornamental birds to persons under the age of 18.
This came during a workshop organized by the municipality through the Public Health Department under the title "How to satisfy your customer", aimed at raising awareness among workers in the shops of birds, ornamental fish and pets.
The workshop focused on how to deal with dealers, and the policy of buying and selling pets and pet birds, by listening to the demands of dealers with interest, and training new workers on this policy and focusing on health requirements to maintain public health standards and customer satisfaction.
The municipality advised buyers of dogs and cats to request a vaccination certificate against diseases from the seller, and the value of the animal or bird can be exchanged or retrieved within two working days if it is proven that he is sick according to a veterinary health report from one of the clinics duly licensed in the city of Abu Dhabi, and a certificate of vaccination against diseases must be requested from the seller , And an invoice detailing the buying and selling process.
