The event took place in early October at a high school in Västerbotten inland. One student took strikes on another so that he became unconscious and sustained injuries to his face after falling against a table on his way to the floor.
The prosecutor demanded that the abuse should be assessed as serious, since the violence that the student was exposed to caused him to continue in a life-threatening condition. But the district court does not consider that it was possible to prove that the student had intended to strangle the other unconscious.
The student should still have understood that the act was risky means the right, therefore he is convicted of abuse. The penalty is set at 75 hours of youth service. He will also pay more than SEK 15,000 in damages to the victim.
