The Institute’s report says that “the prelude to armed aggression of the Third Reich and the USSR was their mutual agreement of August 23, 1939, known as the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.”

Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Shimon Shinkovsky Vel Senk said that Warsaw is analyzing the statements of Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the initial period of World War II. According to him, the Foreign Ministry is exploring the possibility of a diplomatic reaction.

Putin during a major press conference said that Soviet troops entered Poland “after the Polish government lost control of its armed forces and what is happening on the territory of the country.”
