The young Clermont winger Samuel Ezeala, author of a promising start to the season, will not replay the season, hit a knee, announced the Auvergne club Friday afternoon.

The three-quarters Spanish, who has just celebrated his 20 years, suffers from a "mixed attack to the posterior and anterior crusader which will require surgical repair", explains the ASM. Its unavailability is estimated at eight months.

It's a new blow for Ezeala, whose hatching has already been held back by several injuries, including a concussion following a shock with Virimi Vakatawa (Racing 92), for his first Top 14 match in January 2018, who had relaunched the debate on the safety of rugby players.

Ezeala has been established as a titular player since the start of the season, taking advantage of the absences of French internationals Damian Penaud and Alivereti Raka mobilized by the World Cup.

He has accumulated nine game sheets in ten days of the league and two in four days of the European Cup, all as holder, for five tries registered in total.
