December 20, 20199.00 Nine people, 3 Romanians and 6 Singhalese, were arrested by the Lucca police on charges of abetting illegal immigration. The investigations shed light on an organization rooted in the provinces of Lucca and Milan, as well as in Romania. The suspects mainly handled the trafficking of illegal migrants from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on the Romania-Hungary-Italy route. Who wanted to arrive in Italy from Sri Lanka, passing through Romania, was forced to pay between 6,000 and 7,000 euros.
