It was when a convicted murderer, known for using violence, did not want to enter his cell at the Saltviksanstalten that a tense situation arose. One of the caregivers called the alarm.

When the alarm came, around 20 prison guards gathered around the prisoner who was not violent. Suddenly one of them stepped forward and kicked the prisoner in the stomach.

A colleague of the caregiver felt obliged to pepper spray the inmate twice to avoid further escalation of the situation. This is according to the Prison Service's incident report, which states that the sacking involved violence.

According to the report, the personnel who fired "exposed themselves and their surroundings to danger". The Prison and Probation Department's security department submits the incident to the human resources department for assessment of possible sanctions.
