For some time now, the public in Kumla Municipality, but also persons outside the municipal boundary, have been able to send their Christmas greetings to the residents of the special accommodation Solbacka.

During Friday morning, the staff read the Christmas card for the residents. The senders were in most cases children from the countryside, which was appreciated by the recipients.

- The best cards are the kids made. They have tricked and squeezed and have done so well for us. It really warms, says Ingrid Rehnvall Wiremalm.

"Worth its weight in gold"

Bernt Fredin appreciates all cards.

- It's fun to get both from adults and children. Every card we receive is worth its weight in gold, so it is.

Elin Carman is the assistant nurse at the accommodation. She says that Christmas cards from the public are becoming a prized tradition.

- It is appreciated by both those who receive and those who send, I think. I think we look at the number. This year we have received between 40 and 50 cards, she says, adding that the card that has come the most far will go far beyond the municipal boundaries.

- We received a card from the Netherlands, so the interest in Christmas cards seems to be there as well.
