Towards the end of the Brexit series? British MPs on Friday (December 20th) supported Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Brexit deal. A first step that paves the way for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union on January 31, 2020.

"Today we are fulfilling the promise we made to the people and we are wrapping up the Brexit vote for Christmas," said Boris Johnson ahead of the vote.

The second reading of the Withdrawal Agreement Bill has passed - which means we are one step closer to getting Brexit done 🇬🇧

The House of Commons, where the Conservative leader has a very large majority since the December 12 elections, approved the text at second reading with 358 for and 234 against.

The legislative process is set to continue after the holidays, with the government expecting final adoption on January 9. After the Queen's consent, it will only remain for the European Parliament to ratify it.
