The High Authority for the transparency of public life seized, Wednesday, December 18, justice in the Delevoye case. The former high commissioner for pensions had already been forced to resign Monday, December 16, because of shortcomings in his mandatory declaration of interests.

After his resignation from the government , it is now the threat of legal sanction that hangs over Jean-Paul Delevoye. On Wednesday, the independent administrative authority responsible for controlling the probity of public officials judged the facts concerning Jean-Paul Delevoye serious enough to give them a judicial twist.

The former High Commissioner for Pensions, the linchpin of the reform project behind the social movement which is shaking France, has indeed failed to declare several positions he had held , such as the chairmanship of the Economic and Social Council or that of administrator of the SNCF Foundation.

Omissions which because of their number and the nature of certain posts could present conflicts of interest, estimates the High Authority for the transparency of the public life.

According to her, only a judicial investigation can shed light and ensure that Jean-Paul Delevoye has not engaged in other undeclared activities. It is now up to the public prosecutor to decide whether or not to prosecute.
