The spokesman of Citizens in Cantabria, Félix Álvarez, has presented this Thursday to the regional committee of the party his resignation as responsible for training in the autonomous community after his "disagreements" with the rest of the address, as they have told Efe party sources .

The same sources have stated that at 20:00 the Autonomous Committee of Citizens in Cantabria was convened to speak with Álvarez about the situation generated after hiring for a position in the Parliament of Cantabria who was the head of the formation list to Congress in the last general elections, Rubén Gómez.

The regional committee, to which Félix Álvarez also belongs as party spokesman, wanted to know why the spokesman had denied this body that he had hired Rubén Gómez and, subsequently, that contract - which was for a day - was published by a media Communication.

In the meeting this afternoon, which has lasted for a few minutes, Alvarez said that he hired "with the approval of the national leadership of the party" the candidate for Congress in the last general elections and regional deputy in the previous legislature.

However, Félix Álvarez has indicated to the regional committee that Rubén Gómez asked, the day after he was hired, that his responsibility be rescinded within the organization chart of the group of Citizens in the Cantabrian Parliament, so his contract "was one day" .

After the situation created within the party and the "continuing disagreements" that exist between the spokesman and part of the direction of political formation, Félix Álvarez has decided to present his resignation as head of Citizens in Cantabria and this Friday, in a conference Press, will know all your reasons and what will be your future.

Félix Álvarez has been a spokesperson for Citizens in Cantabria since July 2017 after there was a split in the party, which led to his election by the national leadership.

His arrival in politics - since until then he was known as Felisuco in his facet of humorist and actor - was in 2016 for the general elections of June of that year, when Albert Rivera appointed him as head of the list of Citizens to Congress for Cantabria, seat he got.

In the last regional elections, Félix Álvarez was the head of the list to the Presidency of Cantabria and his party won three deputies against the two that had the previous legislature. EFE
