Reinvigorated by the victory of her party, the SNP, in the British legislative elections on December 12, the Scottish Prime Minister believes that there is now reason to request a new consultation.
Nicola Sturgeon sets out his arguments in a 39-page document, entitled Constitutional and Democratic File, published on the official website of his government. She wants to get the green light from the British government for a transfer of power that would authorize the Scottish Parliament to hold a referendum on independence .
" Scotland made it very clear last week that it did not want the Conservative government led by Boris Johnson to get it out of the EU and take it down a path we did not choose, " said Nicola Sturgeon.
